Orlando-based Roger B Kennedy, Inc. completes Key West and Georgia projects

Orlando-based construction manager Roger B. Kennedy, Inc. says it has completed two multimillion-dollar projects ahead of schedule: The Flats at Carrs Hill, a $13 million, six-story, 316-bed student housing facility at the University of Georgia, in under 15 months, a full five days ahead of the scheduled July 1 move in day; and the new $9.6 million, 12-building, 48-unit Banyan Grove Residences located in Key West, Fla., fully two weeks ahead of schedule in only five and a half months.

Developed by Vestcor, Jacksonville, and designed by Gary B. Coursey & Associates-Architects, Inc., Atlanta, the 225,000-sq. ft. gated student living community features four stories of apartments atop two stories of structured parking. Its fully-furnished apartments offer private bedrooms and bathrooms, plank wood flooring, high-speed data and cable video service, full kitchens with energy-efficient appliances, washer and dryer, and more. The two-story Banyan Grove Residences, designed by Thomas E. Pope, P.A., Architect, Key West, offer a combination of two- and three-bedroom rental apartments that meet the county, state and federal affordable housing guidelines.

The Kennedy organization has been in continuous operation as a family-owned construction business for 143 years, and opened its Florida office in Orlando in 1972, the news release says..
