Students at NeoCity Academy a an inquiry-driven, project-based STEM magnet for the Osceola School District got to start the 2019-2020 school year in a brand new net-zero building.
Project architect Little Diversified Architectural Consulting says the three-story building was designed for 500 students and features collaboration laboratories, break out spaces, outside dining and an immersive learning environment.
It also includes air purification technology, solar panels, and a high-performance design, all to help the building achieve its net-zero designation.
According Building Design + Construction magazine, the school is the first one in Florida to be built with a net-zero design.
