Construction has begun on The Dunes Fort Lauderdale, an upscale beachfront hotel that will become the city’s first Autograph Collection property under the Marriott International brand.
Moss, a national construction firm, is serving as construction manager for the 16-story project at 441 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. The $175 million development is being led by Granite FL LLC, part of the G. Holdings Group.
Plans call for 205 guest rooms across roughly 206,000 square feet, along with an ocean-facing restaurant, event space, a third-floor pool and bar deck, and a rooftop bar and dining area with panoramic views. Parking will be handled through a valet-operated underground garage.
The hotel will be the first of its kind in the city and marks the last major development site along Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Designed by FSMY Architects & Planners, the building will combine contemporary style with coastal elements. Interiors by Toronto-based Studio Munge will feature layered textures, warm tones and locally inspired details.Local officials and project partners joined Moss, G. Holdings and Marriott at the recent groundbreaking ceremony.
“This project reflects everything Moss values — collaboration, community and excellence,” said Brett Atkinson, president of Moss. “We’re honored to work alongside G. Holdings, Marriott and the talented design and engineering team to shape a new chapter in Fort Lauderdale’s architectural story.”
