Moss has acquired Tampa-based Ellison Construction, expanding the national construction management firm’s footprint in the Tampa Bay region.
The acquisition brings Ellison Construction’s operations and workforce into Moss, strengthening the company’s capacity in one of Florida’s fastest-growing construction markets. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Moss, which ranks among the nation’s top construction management firms, said the move supports its long-term strategy of targeted growth in core Florida markets. Ellison Construction is known for its work across Tampa Bay and has built projects in commercial, mixed-use and community-focused sectors.
Scott Moss, CEO of Moss, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s culture and long-term business goals.
“We’re excited to welcome Ellison Construction’s talented team into Moss,” Moss said. “Their values and commitment to quality make them a natural fit with the culture and long-term vision that guide our work.”
Ellison Construction President Cory Ellison will join Moss along with the broader Ellison Construction team. Ellison said the decision was driven by shared priorities around people, collaboration and community impact.
“This was a thoughtful decision about future growth and what best serves our people and clients,” Ellison said. “We found a partner that values culture, collaboration and the community as much as we do.”
Ellison Development will continue to operate as a separate entity, with Casey Ellison remaining as CEO. The transaction also establishes a strategic construction relationship between Moss and Ellison Development.
Ellison Development is currently involved in several large-scale projects, including The Central in St. Petersburg, the Heights Redevelopment in Tampa Heights, and The Fletcher District, a master-planned development in partnership with the University of South Florida. Company leadership is also focused on the recently announced ARK Ellison fund, formed with Cathie Wood and ARK Invest.
Sam Ellison will continue to lead Ellison Advisors, an owner’s representative firm working with clients that include the Tampa Museum of Art and the Tampa Theatre.
Moss said the acquisition enhances its ability to serve clients across the Tampa Bay region by adding local expertise, workforce capacity and established relationships while maintaining a long-term commitment to the Florida market.
