Million-dollar condos to be built on Fort Lauderdale beach

Luxury condominiums are coming to the site of the former Howard Johnson’s hotel on Fort Lauderdale beach, reports Sun Sentinel.

Paramount Fort Lauderdale Beach will feature 95 units priced from $1 million.

The hotel, damaged during Hurricane Wilma in 2005, will be torn down Feb. 23.

Groundbreaking is expected in the third quarter, and occupany is scheduled for the winter of 2016.

The developer is Encore Housing Opportunity Fund, a group headed by Art Falcone and Nitin Motwani. Another developer, Daniel Kodsi, also will be part of the 18-story project.
