Miller Construction begins work on $4.37 million Pompano Commerce Center

Miller Construction Company says it has begun site work on Pompano Commerce Center, a $4.37 million industrial project, for 1501 Powerline, LLC.

The 41,914-sq. ft. warehouse at 2151 Martin Luther King Blvd. will be a single-story, tilt wall structure. The contractor says work should be completed in the second quarter.

The project team also includes RLC Architects, Puga & Associates, Inc. (MEP), DDA Engineers (structural) and Sun-Tech Engineering, Inc. (civil).

“With the influx of new businesses to South Florida, there is a major need for industrial sites like Pompano Commerce Center,” Miller Construction president Brian Sudduth said in a statement.. “The same can be said for the entire state, creating many opportunities for construction of state-of-the-art warehouse spaces.”

The building will be equipped with 40-ft. column spacing and 24-foot clear height ceilings. The shell design allows each tenant to add store frontage and office space to support client needs.

During the planning process, Miller’s preconstruction team assessed the site. As a requirement of the Pompano Beach Fire Department, Miller installed fire lines surrounding the warehouse. Although the process cut off access to the site until the lines were inspected, Miller says it worked closely with the fire department to ensure construction remained on schedule.
