Metropica Holdings says construction will start in the second quarter for its $1.5 billion master-planned community in West Broward County.

The four-million sq. ft. Sunrise project  will include residential condominiums, apartments, boutique hotels, commercial office space, and green space.

The initial phase of Metropica’s retail/entertainment lifestyle center, comprising of 280,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 349 apartments, will break ground in the second quarter of this year, with completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2019. Urban Outfitters will be a tenant, occupying 8,000 sq. ft. of retail space.

Designed by an architectural team that includes Oppenheim Architecture + Design, Metropica will feature around 2,250 residential units; 650,000 sq. ft. of office space; approximately 400,000 sq. ft. of retail accommodations; a hotel; and public spaces.
