A new residential development featuring five single family contemporary homes by LOL Development is set for construction in Southern Brickell.

Villa Leone will be built on a property known as La Casa Reposada, which previously served as home to famous personalities such as Southern Craft Paper tycoon Vernon Gransden and former Cuban president Carlos Prio Socarras.

The original structure was razed in the 1980s. Since then, the property sat empty until the project developer broke ground on the five homes designed by architect Reinaldo Borges, principal and CEO of Borges Architects + Associates.

Each of the homes were designed to have three stories with sizes ranging between 5,345 to 7,716 sq ft. They will have high-end finishes; free-flowing spaces; a summer kitchen by the pool; a rooftop terrace with an optional second pool; nine-ft.-tall doors; and sub-street level parking.

“Villa Leone is grounded in the same independent spirit and confident expression of luxury that first put Miami and Brickell on the international map a century ago,” said Engel & Volkers Miami president Irving Padron, who is in charge of selling the homes, which are priced from $3.5 million to $4.2 million.

“An address like historic South Miami Avenue deserves nothing less than a vibrant community of residents that treasure sophisticated living and all that it entails. We are exceedingly proud to be a part of making that lifestyle a reality,” Padron said.

The first home is expected for delivery by the spring of 2018.
