Pugh and Bergeron will join 10 other sector leaders from across North America, who will be honored by the association for encouraging youth to pursue higher education through their example and charitable efforts.

The association’s president Matthew Rose said that Pugh “is an incredible business person and philanthropist, but an even better man. Many of our scholars can relate to the way in which he grew up and understand how his experiences shaped him as a person.”

Meanwhile, about Bergeron, Rose said that he “is an excellent example of someone who has worked tirelessly for more than half a century to grow many successful businesses. It is important to acknowledge that in his rise to success, he has never lost sight of the importance of family and giving back to others.”

The two industry executives from Florida and other members of the Member Class of 2018 will formally be inducted into the organization during the 71st Horatio Alger Award Induction Ceremonies on April 5 to 7, 2018, in Washington D.C.

The ceremony is a part of a three-day annual event, which recognizes the accomplishments of the organization’s members and national scholars. It provides a stage for attendees to interact and to share their achievements.

More information about the association and member classes can be found on its official website www.horiatioalger.org.
