Delray Beach-based firm Kaufman Lynn Construction (KL) says it recently celebrated the topping out of 321 at Water’s Edge, an 8-story condominium on Fort Lauderdale’s Intracoastal Waterway.

City records indicate that the 23-unit structure’s building permit issued in November, 2017, reports an applied value of $20,470,000. This would indicate that each unit in the building has an average minimum “hard” construction cost of more than $886,000.

The 8th floor topping out took place on Jan. 15 and was attended by KL’s CEO Michael Kaufman, company president Frank White, and various representatives of SobelCo, the property developer, and Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, the realtor.

KL began construction of the building at 321 N. Birch Rd. in February 2018, and the work is slated to finish this summer.

In a statement, the company’s public relations representative observed that KL will mark its 30-year anniversary in 2019, and recently celebrated the opening of its new headquarters on Congress Avenue in Delray Beach. KL claims it is among the 400 largest contractors nationwide.
