A groundbreaking ceremony was held last week, launching construction of a $13 million fire station and upgrades to Mill Run Park in the City of Kissimmee, with completion expected in fall 2027.

The project broke ground last week and includes a three-bay fire station built using the city’s prototype design. The facility is intended to improve response times and overall operational efficiency for the fire department, while addressing the specific needs of the surrounding community.

The three-bay layout will accommodate multiple fire apparatus, allowing for more efficient equipment storage and faster deployment. The station will also feature modern technology and design elements to support daily operations and meet current safety standards.

In addition to the fire station, Mill Run Park will undergo a series of improvements once construction is complete. Planned upgrades include new sidewalks, updated playground equipment, additional picnic tables and a new restroom facility.

Enhancements are aimed at improving accessibility and providing a better overall experience for families who use the space regularly.

Construction is scheduled for completion in fall 2027.
