Jupiter Town Council gives final approval for Love St. mixed-use project

Jupiter Town Council has given final consent for the mixed-use Love St. project.

The project calls for a low density, pedestrian-friendly village alongside the Jupiter Inlet to the west of Love St. and the Square Grouper and will provide small scale restaurants, shops and office space, South Florida Business Journal reports.

The project is the owned by Hobe Sound-based Modica Group, led by former WXEL head Charles Modica, who said: “From the beginning, we realized this would be a process and the input and feedback from the Jupiter citizens and supporters was invaluable. We presented a solid plan that lays the groundwork to make the Jupiter Inlet Village a gathering place in the north end of the county for local families and visitors alike by providing permanent public access to the waterfront.”

At full buildout, the plan includes two waterfront restaurants and a small café totaling approximately 12,917 sq. ft. of restaurant space, approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of office space and 20,728 square ft. of retail space. The plan also calls for surface parking for 215 cars, dotted with intermittent chickee huts to offer covered spaces. The 13 boat slip marina is already in use by a commercial fishing fleet.

The Love St. project expects to begin construction in the fall/winter of 2016.
