The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) membership has elected Jeremy Nelson to serve as president for the 2016-2017 term. Nelson served as treasurer in 2016 and has been active within FGBC since 2006. He is the owner of GreenGov, LLC., a consulting firm in Orlando specializing in assisting local governments with sustainability efforts. He has a MBA from the University of Central Florida.

Stephanie Thomas-Rees – vice-president
Stephanie Thomas-Rees was re-elected to the FGBC Board in 2015. She is an adjunct professor at Daytona State College in the School of Building and Architectural Technology, teaching Sustainable Design, Construction Materials and Processes and Construction Planning and Estimating. In addition, she is the faculty advisor for Team Daytona, Daytona State College and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University’s combined partnership, in the US DOE Solar Decathlon 2017 competition.
Arturo Griego – treasurer
Arturo Griego has served on the FGBC Board of Directors since 2015 and participates on the FGBC standards development committees. Griego, a licensed architect and general contractor, is owner of itecdesign based in Miami. As founding member for the 16-year old architecture and design firm itecdesign, he has been involved in all aspects of the design and construction process for many project types in locations throughout the USA, China, South America, and the Caribbean.
Deirdre Irwin – secretary
Deirdre Irwin is the water conservation coordinator for the St. Johns River Water Management District in Palatka. She served as FGBC vice-president in 2014, previously chaired the education committee, and was twice selected as Volunteer of the Year by the FGBC membership. She received a Diploma in Environmental Management from Dublin Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Environmental Science from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland before coming to work for the St. Johns River Water Management District in 1989.
