The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District will host two contracting industry day webinars along with two project site visits for Hurricane Ian temporary housing site development and rapid disaster infrastructure for manufactured housing units in Charlotte and Lee Counties, Florida.Sessions will be held:

• Mar. 10 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and
• Mar. 14 from 3 to 4:30 pm

FEMA approved direct temporary housing assistance to provide accommodations for families whose homes are uninhabitable due to the hurricane. FEMA determined that rental assistance is insufficient to meet the housing need in those counties because of a lack of available housing resources, according to a news release.

Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are seeking prospective bidders to build temporary housing for people displaced by Hurricane Ian.

The proposed project will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), stand-alone contract(s) using Pre-Qualified Sealed Bidding procedures.

The following site visits are scheduled for contractors:

Mar. 11 and Mar. 14 starting at 9 a.m. – All contractors to meet at Heritage Heights location and tour will include:

• Heritage Heights – Lee County, 10660 Golden Journey Rd.,  Ft. Myers, FL, 33908
• Deep Blue – Lee County, 5361 Pine Island Rd. Bokeelia, FL, 33922
• Bokeelia Gardens – Lee County, 14695 Harbor Dr., Bokeelia, FL  33922

USACE is looking for “maximum participation from available construction contractors”, specifically with expertise in site development.

The goal is to develop group mobile home sites for people displaced by Hurricane Ian.

Previous USACE contractual contractor experience is a plus.

Each site will include grading and installation of utilities (water, sewer, electric) in preparation for mobile home installs by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
