Re-roofing and repair activity remains a stable pillar of the Florida construction economy, as property owners view these projects as “nondiscretionary” due to recurring storm damage. According to the FMI Building Products Market Outlook, insurance carriers and the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) are now driving regional standards through programs like FORTIFIED Roof. These guidelines, which emphasize sealed roof decks and ring-shank nails, are increasingly being written into local building codes across the Gulf Coast. The report also highlights a surge in demand for impact-resistant windows and doors, with the total sector forecast to grow at a 6.2% CAGR through 2029.

Consolidation in the Florida distribution market also reached new heights in 2025. The report cites SRS Distribution’s acquisition of Roadrunner Roofing Supply and QXO’s $11 billion purchase of Beacon Roofing Supply as key moves that are concentrating market share among a few national players.
