Firmo starts work on North Tampa hotel project
Firmo Construction based in Sarasota says it has started work on a new five-story hotel near Busch Gardens in North Tampa.
Pravin Gadhia and Pankaj Patel of Shivstar Investments, LLC, a hospitality and development group, celebrated the start of construction of the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott with a small groundbreaking ceremony in Temple Terrace on Oct. 15, the contractor said in a statement.
“We’re excited to celebrate the first step for this new hospitality opportunity today. Not only is it a positive economic indicator for the Temple Terrace community, but also the hospitality industry in Tampa Bay as a whole,” said Firmo president and CEO Eric Collin.
Firmo says it will collaborate with architect Abhay Pradhan from AP Architecture to bring this hotel to completion. The project is also a turnkey development, meaning Firmo Construction will manage the design and construction of the hotel from inception to completion, resulting in a more cost-effective approach for the build.
The 51,000 sq. ft. structure will be an infill development on a two-acre lot. The contractor did not disclose the project’s value.
