Coral Town Park LLC has filed an application with Miami Dade county officials to build a 57,000-sq. ft.  shopping center. The 6.9-acre project has an address of 14325 S.W. 268th St. (Moody Dr.), but its main access point is at the southeast corner of U.S. 1 and Southwest 264th St.

Coral Town Park LLC, owned by Maurice Cayon and Carlos Herrera Jr. in Miami Lakes, submitted plans including a stand-alone building for Walmart Neighborhood Market and its affiliate pharmacy that totals 41,952 sq. ft.. There would also be a 3,500-sq. ft. bank branch and 12,500 sq. ft. of additional retail.

The project was designed by BRR Architecture and Whadesign, according to South Florida Business Journal.

“This portion of the county is significantly underserved with modern retail, especially supermarket uses,” attorney Graham Penn said in the application on behalf of the developer. “There is a sole, aging, supermarket of any size in this area – the Winn Dixie at 27539 South Dixie Hw. The existing supermarket use simply does not serve the residents of this area well.”
