B&I Contractors, Inc. has announced that Gary Griffin, Chairman of the Board, will retire effective Oct. 31, marking the end of a career that has spanned more than three decades with the company.
Griffin, who joined B&I more than 30 years ago, has played a pivotal role in guiding the Fort Myers-based mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor through significant growth and industry change. During his tenure, he was instrumental in reinforcing the company’s culture of quality, integrity, teamwork and safety.
“Beyond the titles, Gary has been a mentor to many, a steady voice in uncertain times, and a tireless advocate for our employees, partners and community,” said Jason Grabowski, B&I’s chief executive officer. “He leaves behind not just a legacy of business accomplishments, but a workplace culture shaped by values that will continue to define us for years to come.”
Under Griffin’s leadership, B&I expanded its presence across Florida, now operating offices in Fort Myers, Tamarac, Sarasota and Tampa. He also guided the employee-owned company through periods of industry transition while keeping its focus on people and community.
As he prepares to retire, Griffin is recognized for the impact he has made not only on the organization but also on colleagues, partners and the construction industry as a whole.
