Baptist, Belmont Village team up to build senior living communities

Not-for-profit healthcare organization Baptist Health South Florida and seniors housing provider Belmont Village Senior Living created a venture to develop, own and operate senior living communities in South Florida.

The area initially targeted by the partnership will include Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties.

“Our aim with this partnership is nothing short of reinventing wellness and quality of life for seniors in South Florida,” Belmont Village founder and CEO Patricia Will said in a statement. “Thanks to the richness of experience each team brings, we have the potential to change the paradigm for lifestyle and care for the extraordinary elderly population in this region.”

The venture’s first project is a community close to the Shops at Merrick Park in downtown Coral Gables.

The Coral Gables project will be located at 250 Bird Rd., bounded by Aurora St., Altara Ave. and Salzedo St. Construction is projected to start mid-2020 and to be complete within two years of commencement.

Belmont Village will manage development and operation of Belmont Village Coral Gables, which will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care. The project, the company’s first with Baptist Health South Florida, will be Belmont Village’s second community in the region.

Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale is currently under construction at 1031 Seminole Drive and projected to open Fall 2019.
