AdventHealth Tampa has broken ground on a new cancer center and physician office building that hospital leaders say will expand oncology and specialty care services for the community.
The $100,000-square-foot facility, designed by HuntonBrady Architects, will add space for advanced cancer treatment, expanded clinical care and specialty imaging, AdventHealth officials said. A new seven-story parking garage, built by Finfrock, will add more than 1,000 spaces for patients, visitors and staff.
Two floors of the new building will be dedicated to cancer care, including equipment such as two linear accelerators for radiation therapy. The project will also support surgical specialties such as neurology, urology, pulmonology, and head and neck surgery.
Construction is being led by DPR Construction.
“We’re excited to get under way on this project that will help AdventHealth serve the community and the growing demand for cancer care close to home,” Brian Yarborough, DPR’s business unit leader for Central Florida, said in a statement.
Work on the project is expected to ramp up in the coming weeks, with completion scheduled for early 2027.
