Construction is underway on a 172,300-square-foot industrial building at Gratigny Industrial Park, part of a $25-million manufacturing expansion by Miami-Dade-based Captiva Containers.
Rycon Construction is serving as construction manager for Building 14, a ground-up industrial warehouse development on a 7.5-acre site owned by Prologis. The project team marked the start of construction with a groundbreaking ceremony in Miami.
The expansion, designed by CMBE Architecture, will provide additional manufacturing space for Captiva Containers, a locally established company, and is expected to create approximately 80 jobs in Miami-Dade County.
The tilt-up concrete building will have a 36-foot clear height and 54-by-50-foot column spacing. Loading facilities will include 40 dock doors measuring nine by 10 feet, two 12-by-14-foot drive-in doors and two oversized dock doors measuring 20 by 18 feet.
Site work includes grading, stormwater management, irrigation, hardscaping and landscaping. The development will also provide parking for 173 vehicles and 41 trailers.
Gratigny Industrial Park is located near major transportation routes in Miami-Dade County, providing access for industrial and distribution operations.
