AGPM has broken ground on Mariposa Grove, a 12-story senior housing and mixed-use development in downtown Orlando. The project will include 138 apartments for residents 55 and older, about 10,500 square feet of retail space, and a parking garage.
City officials approved roughly $10 million in funding to support the project, which also uses federal low-income housing tax credits and other local grants. Units will be reserved for households at or below various percentages of the area median income.
Mariposa Grove is designed to provide residents easy access to dining, shopping, transit and cultural attractions. Street-level retail and communal amenities, including a clubhouse, fitness room and outdoor patio, will encourage engagement and wellness.
Construction is underway, with completion expected in the mid-to-late 2020s. City leaders say the project will expand affordable senior housing options in downtown Orlando as demand grows.
