Cemex US has opened its Four Corners Sand Facility in Clermont, a new operation expected to produce roughly 1.2 million tons of commercial sand annually for construction projects across Central Florida.

The facility will supply sand and aggregates for concrete, asphalt and infrastructure work, providing builders with a local source for materials needed in hospitals, schools, roads, homes and other construction projects. The plant is designed to strengthen regional supply chains and support ongoing construction demand in the area.

The Four Corners site uses a dry-sand production process and a plate and filter press system that recycles water, reducing overall water use. The facility is located at 16231 Schofield Road.

Local officials highlighted the facility’s role in supporting economic development and maintaining access to construction materials. Lake County Commissioner Sean Parks said the operation reflects a partnership between business and community, while Commissioner Leslie Campione noted Cemex US has been an active civic partner.

David Colby, president and CEO of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, said the plant will help local projects by providing materials closer to job sites, which can lower costs and shorten construction timelines.

Cemex US, a global building materials company, operates the facility as part of its effort to provide reliable aggregates and other construction materials for the region.
