PCL Construction celebrated the topping out of The Harrison last week, a 20-story, 646,842-square-foot mixed-use development in downtown Tampa, marking a key milestone in the project’s construction.

Developed by Aureate Development, part of the Patel Family Office, The Harrison is designed to blend residential, retail, healthcare, and recreational spaces into a single urban hub. The project will feature 294 market-rate apartments, a 24,000-square-foot grocery store, a six-level parking garage, 44,000 square feet of medical office space, and an amenity-rich eighth floor with a pool and pickleball court.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we also celebrate Tampa’s evolution,” said Eric Nixon, area manager at PCL. “The Harrison is a bold step toward a more connected, convenient, and community-centered future.”

The topping-out ceremony, which marks the completion of the building’s structural framework, was attended by more than 300 guests, including representatives from Aureate Development, Baker Barrios Architects, the Tampa Housing Authority, and PCL staff.

Dr. Kiran C. Patel, chairman of Aureate Group, said the project reflects a commitment to enhancing both the skyline and the lives of Tampa residents. “The Harrison blends thoughtful design, accessibility, and purpose to serve the greater good of the community,” Patel said.

The Harrison is part of a broader trend of downtown revitalization, with PCL Construction leading efforts to transform urban landscapes into inclusive, community-centered spaces that foster connection and opportunity.

Construction continues on schedule, with completion expected to bring a new standard of mixed-use urban living to Tampa’s growing downtown district.
