Legacy Harbour Marina, a longtime destination on the Caloosahatchee River in downtown Fort Myers, is being rebuilt after sustaining severe damage from Hurricane Ian in 2022.

AIRN Management, LLC, which owns the marina, has partnered with Bellingham Marine to oversee the redevelopment. Construction began earlier this year, with reopening planned for the first quarter of 2026.The Category 4 storm left the 13-acre marina in ruins when it made landfall in September 2022. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Ian was the costliest hurricane in Florida history, causing more than $112 billion in damage.

“This marina has always played an important role in the Fort Myers boating community,” said Rick Budd, chief executive officer of AIRN Management. “We’re committed to restoring Legacy Harbour in a way that not only honors its history, but brings in modern improvements and safeguards for the future.”The redevelopment plan includes 131 slips ranging from 40 to 150 feet. The marina will feature Bellingham Marine’s Unifloat concrete wave attenuator system, anchored by 70-foot steel piles, along with Unideck aluminum frame docks and WearDeck synthetic decking. Upgrades will include new utility services such as potable water, in-slip pump-out, fire suppression systems, fiberglass dock boxes and single- and three-phase power.

Legacy Harbour covers eight acres of submerged land and 4.6 acres of upland property. The marina offers direct access to the Gulf of Mexico and is within walking distance of Fort Myers’ River District.

Slip reservations are expected to open about six months before the 2026 reopening.
