Canaveral Port Authority announced that construction has started on the new estimated $50.5 million Cruise Terminal 1 at Port Canaveral, Fla.
The Cruise Terminal 1, to be located on the south side of Canaveral harbor, will allow passengers and crew to walk to nearby dining and entertainment options for the first time.
Merritt Island, Fla.-based Ivey’s Construction was selected by Port Canaveral commissioners to build the 187,500 square foot facility.
The new facility is scheduled to open in November 2014.
