Kaufman Lynn Construction in Boca Raton says it has “put its best paw forward” to benefit canines during national “Take Your Dog to Work Day.” The annual event in June celebrates companionship, promotes pet adoptions, and allows employees to experience the benefits of having pets in the workplace for the day. The construction firm says it welcomed 12 furry friends to its Boca Raton headquarters.

Throughout the month, Kaufman Lynn says its employees paid it “fur”-ward through donations of household items, pet food and gift cards to supermarkets and pet stores to benefit the Tri-County Animal Rescue (TCAR), a 100 percent no-kill, 501(c) 3, nonprofit animal shelter working to rescue, rehome, rehabilitate animals in need.

Since its inception, TCAR has saved over 55,000 domestic animals from being euthanized by placing them in homes through its adoption center. It also works with several organizations, businesses, and the local school district to educate the community about animal awareness.

“Tri-County Animal Rescue offers its deepest gratitude to Kaufman Lynn Construction for its amazingly generous and heartwarming support of our rescue and adoption efforts at the shelter,” TCAR co-founder and executive director Suzi Goldsmith said in a statement “For so many of our cats and dogs that have not yet found their forever homes, the kindness and compassion you have displayed is even more meaningful to all of us.”

“Take Your Dog to Work Day” is one of the programs supported through its Positive Workplace Committee initiative. The mission of the internal initiative is to create and execute events that promote associate engagement, create a better sense of family among the Kaufman Lynn Construction team, and provide opportunities for involvement and caring within the community. Upcoming programs include a backpack drive for Florence Fuller Child Development Centers, a Women in Distress Clothing Drive and several team-building activities to support various local charities.
